PORT Elizabeth soccer side Highbury started their Safa provincial Second Division soccer campaign on a disappointing note when they went down 1-0 to Cacadu United at the Gelvandale Stadium last night.
The game was evenly balanced before the halftime break, with both teams striving for that opening goal.
United eventually broke the deadlock just a few minutes before the end of the first half. Highbury came back in the second half determined to equalise, but the visitors introduced a defensive pattern and were able to keep the home side at bay.
United attempted to increase their lead with crosses from their wings, but the Highbury defence also stood firm.
Highbury enjoyed territorial domination but could not find a way through the visitors' defence.
