New R70m crane for EL

IN what it said was a sign of commitment to increasing economic activity in the Eastern Cape, Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) has invested in a new mobile crane for use at its East London multipurpose terminal.

According to TPT, the new R70-million Liebherr mobile crane, which was delivered earlier this month, will allow increased productivity and boost the terminal's efficiency.

TPT's Eastern Cape Terminals general manager, Siya Mhlaluka, said: "This is a historical moment where East London received its first ever mobile crane. This also reaffirms Transnet's commitment to increasing economic activity in this region.
