A GROUP of Port Elizabeth pupils, who claim they were kicked out of school in the middle of an exam, have spoken about their humiliation over being targeted for not paying their school fees.
The Edu-U-College pupils claim that eight Grade 10 pupils were asked to stop writing their life orientation exam on Friday morning and vacate the premises until they paid up.
One pupil whose parents owe R24400 – for fees not paid last year and this year – said her father tried to negotiate with the school.
"My dad will not have the full amount. He told the school he could only afford to pay R10000, but they [the school] said I should not come back on Monday if I do not pay the full amount," the visibly emotional girl said.
Another pupil, whose fees are in arrears by R5440, said the school should take the matter up with parents.
