AFTER waiting more than a month to know who their opponents would be in the Grand Challenge final, Despatch have been declared the winners by EP club rugby officials.
With three teams – Harlequins, Gardens and PE SAPS – in the running to play in the final, a dispute arose over SAPS having fielded players who were not registered in time.
EP rugby fixtures and logs administrator Jaap Claasen said it was decided on Thursday that there would be no more matches this year.
"All rugby has been stopped. There will be no more rugby this year and Despatch were declared as the winners," Claasen said.
