Cars block entrance

ON SUNDAY we held our monthly Art in the Park market, as always at St George's Park. We were once again amazed at the lack of consideration from the public, who as you can see from the attached photo, seem to think it's their right to park on a red line in front of the main entrance gate to the park, blocking it off completely.

When confronting culprits, we are usually met with verbal abuse or told they have a disabled card, despite the fact that there is no disabled parking in front of the entrance. Efforts to obtain help from the police also fall on deaf ears, which makes it even more frustrating.

Despite all the annoying car guards who are supposedly on duty, even cones placed in front of the gate are removed, never to be seen again, so we are at our wits' end.

On Sunday a person had fallen and we needed to get a vehicle into the park to assist. This was impossible because of the blocked-off entrance which remained blocked until well after midday.

Do the public have so little consideration for other people and the law that this behaviour has to continue? We sincerely hope this will be the last time. It's extremely unpleasant to have to deal with abuse when trying to help others.
