Eastern Cape pair in line to be appointed as judges

TWO high-profile Eastern Cape lawyers have been recommended for appointment to the bench.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) made its recommendations to President Jacob Zuma last week, and two legal eagles from the Eastern Cape made the cut. Attorney Buyiswa Majiki, from Butterworth, and Advocate Murray Lowe, SC, from Grahamstown, were among those earmarked for the Port Elizabeth and Mthatha benches.

All candidates were short-listed and interviewed by the JSC, before recommendations were made to the president.
