Bay teams ready for Challenge

PORT Elizabeth's soccer teams in the Safa provincial Second Division league, Bay Stars and Highbury, will begin their campaigns in the Nedbank Cup Knockout Challenge at the Gelvandale Stadium tomorrow (kickoff 10am).

Stars will host Cacadu United in the first game, while Highbury welcome OR Tambo DC Cosmos in the second match at the same venue (noon).

The winners will meet in the final of the Group A stage to determine the team which will qualify for the provincial Second Division league semifinals to be played on November 24.

Two teams out of the nine overall provincial winners will lock horns in a mini-playoff from where the eight remaining sides will join the Nedbank Cup last 32 with Premier Soccer League (PSL) and National First Division (NFD) sides.
