250kg man hoisted out of flat

A PORT Elizabeth man weighing about 250kg had to be lifted out of his fifth-storey flat yesterday with a truck-mounted hydraulic platform.

Curious neighbours and passersby gathered outside, snapping pictures of the dramatic event with their cellphones.

Firefighters were called in to extract and rescue the morbidly obese man when everything else failed to get him out of the building.
