Picture Gallery - The Thai Poosam Kavady festival

THE Hindu temple on Valley Road, Port Elizabeth was a riot of colour as about 300 Hindus gathered to celebrate the Thai Poosam Kavady festival yesterday. Celebrated every year across the world, the festival is the culmination of ten days of fasting by Dravidian Hindus from the Southern part of India. Yesterday’s celebration saw the huge group of Hindus surrounded by incense and dressed in bright colours as they sang and prayed. Pictures by: FREDLIN ADRIAAN
