Walmer service delivery protestors block roads, set fires, stone cars

On Tuesday (29/05/2012) Walmer Township residents protesting against poor service delivery blocked roads between 10th and eighth avenue along Heugh road with burning tyres and protest action. Police use rubber bullets as Walmer burns for second day

A Walmer resident, part of the estimated 4500 people protesting for the second day against lack of service delivery remonstrates with the ANC's Nceba Faku, today (30/05/2012) while police provide protection. Police fired rubber bullets, teargas and stun grenades in an attempt to control the crowd which assaulted a number of police and torched a local business.
