Wheelie dream for Reece

WHAT was meant to be a dreary doctor’s appointment turned into an unforgettable day for a Port Elizabeth boy who received a brand new Mongoose BMX yesterday.

St Joseph’s Primary School Grade 5 pupil Reece Farmer, 10, a type 1 diabetes patient, became the Reach for a Dream Foundation’s latest beneficiary when he received his bicycle and cycling equipment worth R2 400.

Reece was among others to benefit from the Greenwood Primary School’s fundraising drive that raised R15 000 in just two weeks.

"I’m super excited! My mother told me she was picking me up to go to the doctor and we ended up here at the skate park [Kings Beach]. It was such a shock. I feel extremely special. It has been all about me all day,” Reece said.
