THE picture attached (left) is a pretty accurate reflection of the overall condition into which our esteemed metro has allowed the infrastructure of our once proud "garden town" to degenerate.
This electrical substation is situated on the corner of Innes and Scanlan streets, Uitenhage and according to nearby residents, the premises is "home" to some very dubious characters.
Despite the efforts of a handful of community members in an attempt to re-beautify our town, all requests for assistance have fallen on deaf ears. To coin a phrase, "we are being ignored like stop streets".
What will it take to restore civic pride in our town?
