A woman died when she was hit by a maintenance truck after falling off a motorcycle in Wynberg, Cape Town, paramedics said on Friday (10/01/2014).
ER24 spokeswoman Luyanda Majija said the motorcycle the woman was travelling on crashed into a stationary vehicle on Thursday.
"The woman, a passenger on the motorcycle, fell onto the road after impact and was subsequently ridden over by a heavy-duty maintenance truck," said Majija.
She died on the scene.
The motorcycle driver was catapulted over the stationary vehicle after hitting it.
"He suffered a severely broken leg and was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for further care," Majija said.
The truck driver was not injured in the incident but was treated for shock. - Sapa
