PE man dies in shower

23 January 2014
A PORT Elizabeth man was found dead in his shower yesterday morning - apparently after he fell.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said it was believed Leonard van der Schyff, 61, fell and broke his neck shortly after 8am.

His wife heard a thud in the bathroom of their Berea Street, Charlo, home and found him lying on the floor. She ran to neighbours who alerted authorities.

Janse van Rensburg said they were awaiting postmortem results to determine the cause of death.

An inquest docket has been opened.

Police expect the postmortem results next week. - Gareth Wilson
